Healthy Backpack Tips
Wearing a backpack that doesn’t fit right or is too heavy can strain growing backs and shoulders. Here are some great tips from the physical therapy professionals at Riverside Healthcare:
- Carry no more than 10-15% of your body weight
- Use both shoulder straps and adjust them so that pack is snug to the body.
- Pack heaviest items closest to body.
- Carry only what’s necessary for the day.
- Bottom of pack should not hang lower than the waist.
